Subject: Work with me!

Hey Jan! How are you? 

Today I write you to ask you a big favour, which I hope you like. Do you remember that I explained you that last summer I worked at an International Camp in France? They run it this year again and I have decided to work there again, because I had a great experience. But this summer I want you to come with me!

I have read the advertisement for the job and I found a difference: this year the camp is run for 8 to 12 years-old childrens and last year it was for 6 to 10 years-old. It is even better!

Our help would be with the outdoor activities, with the entertainment and with the games and sports competitions. I can tell you that help with this is really funny. And the best thing is that it is only 5 hours' work a day! The rest of the day is free time for us (we can go swimming, visit the zone which is a beautiful one...).

The accommodation is free (in our tents) like the food (which is not the best... but it is free!).

WRITING 5 FIRST | MONEY CAN BUY EVERYTHING BUT LOVE | 19/06/15

Money and love, some of the most important things in our society. The sentence which says that 'Money can buy everything' is a good one to start a discussion.

On the one hand it is true that money is really important, because we need it to eat, to live and some times to study. But there are some things we can not buy: friends, a family and, of course, love. In fact, these things are the only ones which rest even when you are broke.

But on the other hand, is it true that we can not buy love? Maybe we can not buy the feeling of love, but it is true that some people are attracted by (to) money. And I can not deny that are people who only starts a relationship if the 'loved' person is rich enough.

In my opinion, there is nothing better than true love, and the last one option I wrote is not true love. Only is true the one which remains (keeps) when you have no money. Otherwise, it is not true love. But I know people who would start a relation with someone just because of his/her richness.

In conclussion, money can buy some love. The love of those who think that money is more important than love. 

WRITING 4 FIRST | ANSWER TO 'MY FRIEND' DAVID | 16/06/15

Subject: Touring holiday in Reus

Hey David! How are you? It has been so long since the last time we talk. It is nice to know you still remember me.

I am also glad you thought of me to help your friends in their visit.

To help them with their touring I have to say that my city, which is Reus, is not big but it is not little neither. In my opinion it has the perfect size: a medium city.

It is true that Reus has not got beach, but it is near (Tarragona is just 12km away from mi city, and it has some beautiful beach with perfect landscapes). Even (Although) it has not got beach, Reus is a Mediterranean style city (I guess you know what this style is about).

If you ask me about places to visit, I would tell you that the most emblematic place is the 'Mercadal's Square', 'Plaça del Mercadal' in catalan. It has not got anything special, but there is where local people meet their friends, where you can drink a Vermut (a typical drink)... summarizing, it has a perfect ambient to spend the morning. Also are nices places 'la Plaça del Prim', 'la Plaça de la Llibertat' and go shopping is a good idea in this city.

And about the best way to travel around my city... I think it is just walking. On other case, by bike, but car or coach is not a good idea (unless you want to visit the suburbs).

WRITING 3 FIRST | DEPENDENCE ON COMPUTERS | 11/06/15

If you ask me if we are dependent on computers, my answer is an enormous yes. We are too much dependent on they. In fact, the first thing I did today when I woke up was to switch on the computer and update my social networks. But, in addition, computers are used everywhere nowadays: schools, hospitals...

On the one hand I think it is alright, because it is a progress. Some years ago, doctors and teachers for exemple, must (had to) to handwrite everything, and now they do it all by computers, loosing less time.

But on the other hand, to be dependent on anything is never a good option. What would happen if tomorrow all the computers of the world crash down? Panic! I can not imagine our society without computers, so definitely we are dependent on they. 

To sum up: are we dependent of computers? Yes. And it is not a good thing. So what can we do? Use them to keep progressing and hope they never crash down!

WRITING 2 FIRST | YOUTH AND HEALTH | 09/06/15

Nowadays, every day is really different to the past one. Technology has changed our life's routines, and other factors like mobile phones or the video games have created and still creates a new way of life.

Some people, most of them doctors, argue that now kids and young people don't play as they used in its youth. And I agree with them, because in our times most of teenagers spend its free time at home instead of going out and playing on the streets. It carries with it problems as obesity.

But I think that because of this enormous changes, we are learning to eat better and have a healthy style of life. I mean, nowadays, at schools, our kids learn which groups of meat, fruits or milk derivated can be eated twice at day, only once, etc.

Summing up, in my opinion technology changes are leading us to an unhealthy future. But at the same time, to make more inoffensives the effects of this changes, we are improving our knowledge about the healthy style of life.

WRITING 1 FIRST | ¿FRIENDS OR FAMILY? | 28/05/15

First of all I have to say that, in my opinion, every personal situation is absolutely different to any other. What I want to say is that every person is a different case.

Also different is the enjoy you have with your family and the one you have with your pack of friends. On the one hand I prefer and I enjoy more spending time with my family playing games like Bingo. But on the other hand I enjoy more with my friends when it is about talking or going out.

Many people say that when the dark comes, I mean, when bad days come, you only have your family by your side. But I am not agree at all, because I think that some friend can be closer to you than even your parents and be your lifeguard when you are in troubles. 

To sum up I want to repeat what I wrote firstly: every case is different. Personally I argue that family is more important. Maybe it is because they, my parents and my whole family, inspire me security. I also have really good friends I trust on, but they are less than all the components of my family.

Getting prepared for FCE Exam | 27/05/15

Next 27th July I will take the FIRST Exam of Cambridge to get B2 level in English. Writing is an important part of this exam, so I will use this blog created some years ago to publish my tests. 

Here I will post essays, reviews, articles and emails to have practice and be ready when the exam comes.
